Types of Home Inspections:

There are three types of home inspections:

General Home Inspection, EMP (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing) and Structural.

A General Home Inspections can only be performed by a Licensed Home Inspector.

An EMP Inspection can be performed by a Licensed Home Inspector or, individually licensed electrical, mechanical and plumbing contractors.

A Structural Inspection can be performed by a Licensed Home Inspector or a state registered engineer.

 

As you can see from the table below, a General Home Inspection from BASIS offers you more information and security about the condition of your home than an EMP and Structural inspection combined.

State law dictates that a home inspection include all the items listed in the chart below. The state licensed inspector must report the required components that were not inspected and state the reasons why.
